APTCS provides a support service for Patrons and Trustees of Catholic second-level schools and co-patrons and partner patrons in Community Schools and Colleges.
The Board of APTCS is made up of representatives of Trust Bodies, Congregations, Dioceses and Lay Catholic Schools and meets approximately every six weeks.
APTCS works closely with the Secretariat of Secondary Schools (Joint Managerial Body) and the Catholic Education Partnership.
CEP is the contact for Catholic education policy issues and religious education. CEP will represent the agreed position of Catholic post-primary patrons, Trustees and Management nationally with the State and other relevant education bodies.
The Secretariat of Secondary Schools provides management and support services for Catholic Secondary schools. Its JMB division (Joint Managerial Body) has formal links with the Protestant Secondary Schools and is recognised as a management negotiating body by the Department of Education & Skills.
APTCS assists Patrons and Trusts in supporting the characteristic spirit of their schools and is the contact for the establishment of new schools and property issues.
